Zhaonian Chen, better known on Twitch as “zchenmike” won the Massachusetts State Championship. Two of his games were reviewed recently on the latest broadcast from the Mass go Association.
In Game 1, Mike Chen (8d) handled an early fight started by Alexander Qi (1p) to establish a commanding lead of 18 points. At my level, 18 points is nothing. But according to the Mass Go person reviewing at their level, it’s lights out.
Game 2 was a grind with a lot of interesting back and forth. He played Meng Yongmei who came from Florida with her husband to compete in this tournament held at MIT.
